A kopitiam on Lebuh Armenian, Georgetown. Beans roasted dark with margarine and sugar the way the old shops did it, breakfast from seven, and a kitchen that shuts when the bread runs out.

Order like a regular

Kopi, decoded.

Ordering coffee in a kopitiam is its own small language, and nobody wants to be the person holding up the queue. Build your order below and we will tell you exactly what lands on the table.

2 · The milk
3 · The sugar
4 · The temperature
Kopi

The room

Twenty-four seats,
two ceiling fans.

A shophouse unit with the original floor tiles left where we found them. Mornings are busy and loud; after two it is the best quiet desk in Georgetown.

Warm window light and the coffee sign at dusk
Leather chairs and framed prints along the side wall
Nasi lemak served on a banana leaf
A flat white poured into a dark cup
The back wall, hung with prints and old photographs

DayKitchen

Kitchen stops thirty minutes before close. Nasi lemak sells out most days by eleven — we are not being coy, it genuinely runs out.
